This is Andy and Kasia in LA - The moment he asked, she said YES.

Two soulmates and an amazing ring I was so lucky to create. Andy and I designed this together, to match an heirloom given from Andy's Mum to his Dad. We recreated it Kasia style with 3 tall baguettes – It was damn tough to let this one out of the studio but I'm so happy it's where it belongs.

So when your oldest friend’s mum ask’s you to make a 40th present for her, you get excited.

We have been friends since 3 year old kinder and will forever be connected by an obsession of playing dress ups - she’s created an incredible career in fashion & event production, working in Europe, New York and now LA. Needless to say, she has incredible style.

We used existing family gold, and I designed a pendant which was timeless, raw, and housed the Scottish symbol for Inner Strength (Kirsty and her mum come from a line of very strong Scottish women). On the back, a personalised message from her parents marking her significant birthday. I hung this from a pure gold, relatively chunky chain which will endure a lifetime of wear and slot in with her other chains everyday.

Creating the perfect 40th gift for my husband was damn difficult - because I designed it to be a legacy for us.

The layers of meaning imbued into the design are deep. I created a crest for our family which embodies our histories, and took this one step further by engraving the inside with our family’s initials, flanked by a hedgehog and bird (the story of these two goes way back!).

And – the design is asymmetrical, with the filigree falling further down one side of the ring than the other. Whilst a small detail, it drives the uniqueness even further.

I’d met Alex when we shared an incredible experience at Necker Island the year prior and knew within minutes of meeting her that she was not only a forever friend, but the person I wanted to make this ring, that I would wear on my wedding finger to remind me that the most important relationship at this point in my life is the one I have with myself.”
